Steve Marino has made a lot of music over the last decade — whether it’s with his Moor Hound solo project or as a member of bands like Bugg and Jacky Boy — but new album Fluff is the first time he’s put his given name on it.

So it makes total sense that the title track is from the perspective of a dog, right? But on this earnest, introspective album about coming home — developed with producer and fellow Bloomington, Indiana resident Ben Lumsdaine — it absolutely does.

“Fluff” (the song), with its layered guitars and visceral vocals, is exceptionally moving. Fluff (the album) came out last week via Darling Recordings.
