“Half-Light Boy” by Grizzly Coast

Independently-released

Grizzly Coast — the musical project of Toronto-based indie rock musician Alannah Kavanagh — is building toward the release of an as-yet-unnamed LP later in 2019. New track “Half-Light Boy,” which follows 2018 debut single “Zuzu’s Petals,” shines a light on Kavanagh’s poetic roots.

“Hard to Believe” by Charly Bliss

Barsuk Records

Another solid cut from the New York power-pop band’s forthcoming LP Young Enough, which comes out May 10. Methinks it’ll be good.

“Ruby” by Pip Blom

PIAS/Heavenly

I can’t wait for the debut LP from Dutch artist Pip Blom, who makes crunchy, anthemic indie rock like this exquisite new single. “Ruby” comes from the forthcoming full-length Boat, due out May 31.

“Tethering” by Truth Club

Tiny Engines

What do you know? Another great new band on the Tiny Engines label, this one hailing from Raleigh, North Carolina. “Tethering” is from this post-punk quartet’s upcoming album Not An Exit. It comes out May 3.

“Watching My Baby” by Reigning Sound

Merge Records

Starting tomorrow (April 26), you can finally get your hands on Reigning Sound‘s fantastic, Dan Auerback-produced “mini-LP” Abdication… For Your Love — which originally was released in 2011 as a promotional giveaway. Surf rock single “Watching My Baby” is a delight.
