“The Dagger” by The Bbys

Indie punk act The Bbys of Milwaukee, who impressed with their 2018 self-titled debut, are back with an exceptional follow-up EP called The Sauce. It comes out tomorrow (March 1).

The Bbys — currently composed of Dylan Shanahan (bass), Jackson Erdman (drums) and Clyde Veleker (vocals) — already have built a steady buzz with their killer live performances, playing alongside bands like Bethlehem Steel, Calvin Johnson and Pout.

The songs on The Sauce were honed on The Bby’s fall tour to New York and back to Milwaukee, then recorded together in Shanahan’s basement. It was mixed at Silver City Studios with Andrew Jambura, keyboardist for Sat Nite Duets.

Lead single “The Dagger” — a rowdy, Libertines-esque garage rock jam with electrifying guitar lines — shows a marked improvement in production quality from The Bbys to The Sauce, a credit to the year of work that went into creating the new record.

Credits for “The Dagger”

  • Dylan Shanahan: Lead guitar

  • Clyde Veleker: Rhythm guitar

  • Ryan King: Bass

  • Jackson Erdman: Drums and vocals
