Wolf Alice has shared yet another track from their forthcoming Visions of a Life (September 29), the North London four-piece’s second LP — which follows 2015’s My Love Is Cool.

The song is “Beautifully Unconventional” — both in title and in its funky, loose rock sound. It’s also a sharp deviation from both preceding Visions singles, the raucous “Yuk Foo” and delicate “Don’t Delete The Kisses” — highlighting Wolf Alice’s incredible range and hinting at an album of great depth.

So what is “Beautifully Unconventional” about? Wolf Alice’s Ellie Rowsell explained to Dork:

“I wrote it about one of my friends. My feelings towards her reminded me of the film Heathers, where everyone is a Heather and you find your other non-Heather… a ‘you can be my partner in crime,’ sorta thing.”
